German neue deutsche härte (“new German hardness”) band called Oomph!. I just heard of them for the first time last week, and I am in love with their music now. If you like Hard Rock at all, check them out on YouTube. (Sandmann, Labyrinth, Gott Ist Ein Popstar are personal faves)

Just looked them up like you asked. Very overproduced pop rock… they remind me very much of Linkin Park. Seriously, try System of a Down or Rammstein if it’s got to be German… it’s entry level shit, but much better than this.

Srsly, L2music, this is awful…

System of a Down is not German. If anything they are Armenian.

Yawn, I wasn’t saying they’re German. I was saying listen to System of a Down, but if you want German, try Rammstein. I’ll admit it was a grammatical error on my part, sheesh.

Oomph! is not bad. Their most popular song has been Augen Auf – which I still think is pretty good – especially if you can follow the text.
For German music… I prefer die Böhse Onkelz. Die Ärtze have some decent songs too, but are more of a pop than rock.
The German language is quite guttural – so German hard rock sounds good, but German pop and rap music don’t really do much for me.

I like German Beer and German Bar Maidens.

Pretty good. But the lead singer looks remarkably like the late Newfoundland comedian Tommy Sexton. I found a sketch thet just might be offensive enough for you lot, called Pleasant Irish Priests in Conversation. Tommy plays the young lover. It was a fight to get this aired, you can imagine. From the 80′s or early 90′s:

And for more of a Newfoundland flavour, try:

try fieber – fever an weisses lich – white light
goethes erben
not so bad for beginners but not the best german act
also megahertz now eisbrecher oder unheilig may be of interest
for the hard cores

First Tokio Hotel, then this. It can’t be a coincidence anymore: german rock scene is producing a continuous stream of biggest douches ever.
This is sad, considering the great debt of gratitude that heavy metal/hard rock owes to Germany (Scorpions, Helloween, Blind Guardian… up to Rammstein).

Oomph are great and are existing much longer then Tokio Hotel (around 20 years I think).
Other good bands are:
In Extremo and Subway to Sally
