Dude, props to the Calico this time around, but his ass is LUNCH once that fox grows a pair. Cats generally do not fare well in these match-ups…trust me.

Pretty sure foxes are sneakers and not generally good in confrontations, especially in others territory.
Basically what I think is happening here is that the fox knows it’s “trespassing” on another animals territory. This might be caused by the cat peeing on the property tons of places.
The cat knows this and defends it’s territory.
This has happened with my dog a couple times.
A huge golden retriever was being walked in front and I didn’t have killer on a leash.
She’s only a cow herding dog, so she just sort of circled the dog to keep it in place.
Then there was the time I was walking her.
Some big ass rottweiler came out of the yard and barked at her and she put her head down. Nothing happened though.
Anybody got links/wiki on this subject?

I think house cats think they’re tiger sized. Mine weighs 5lbs and regularly orders my 110lb lab around.

Maybe it’s a calico thing. My old calico used to stalk big dogs all the time. The rest of the cats were a lot more cautious.
And then there was that cat that treed the bear a while back. The moral of the story is, bluster works.

depends on the cat, depends on the fox.
i think how hungry the fox is really makes a difference.
i sure as hell wouldnt stand taking pictures if my cat was beeing approached by a fox anyway.
