On the other hand, the aircraft carrier is pretty bad-ass… aside from its name.

He destroyed the American middle class and made the rich much much richer. Of course they love him! Them, and the Joe the wannabe Plumbers in the underclass who have been convinced that social mobility being killed dead in this country is all the Democratic Party’s fault, even though the Republicans were in power for the 30 years while it happened.
And unsurprisingly, those poor dopes who keep going to the polls and pulling the Republican lever so the rich can screw them over harder have ended up with complete dopes leading their party, as the stupidity has now infected the whole racket.

“He was the triumph of image over truth, paving the way for even more vapid spokesmodels like George W. Bush. He was, as everyone agrees, exactly what he appeared to be—nothing. He made me ashamed to be an American. If there was any justice in this world his Presidential Library would contain nothing but boys’ adventure books and bad cowboy movies, and the only things named after him would be shopping malls and Potter’s Fields. Let the earth where he is buried be seeded with salt.”

Remember when he died –right around the same time Ray Charles died– and there was all this nonsense about putting his image on the ten-dollar bill? This was the New Yorker’s response, and I’ll love them forever for it:
