  1. B-Wings!

    In before “It’s a trap!”

  2. Yep. It is a B-wing. lol

  3. What are you guys talking about? that’s most certainly an a-wing.

  4. ummmm hellooo??? t-wing?!?!?!?!?

  5. This is an early design drawing. Yes, those fighters ultimately became known as the Slayn & Korpil B-Wing, but only after a lot of refinement, such as the gyroscopic cockpit and the folding wings were later added in (plus some smoothing of the fighter’s profile).

  6. Why do they need wings in space?

    • They’re not for space. B-Wings are atmospheric-capable, so those are there as stabilizers when it enters a planet’s atmosphere. Ditto for most of the other Rebel craft.

      • The wings also let you mount weapons apart from each other in order to focus your fire on a point in front of your fighter. I think its supposed to be a concept from WW2 fighter planes, just like all the dogfight scenes in SW eps 4-6.

  7. pain in the ass to aim in x-wing vs tie fighter…

  8. you’re doing it wrong then….

  9. Has anyone said that this is actually a B-wing, yet?

/the original design for the Millennium Falcon got used for something rather different, too
