It depends, Adams never explained if there was evidence for these theories in the books, but I would say that they are less than infinitely improbably.

Sure is proven fact around here…
I, for one, believe every blue item goes to a magical place when it stops being blue. It has a lot of friends there, but being stuck there forever will eventually make it tumble into a severe depression, making it kill itself and come back as something blue again. Other colors go to hell and everything out of the visible spectrum stays in limbo.
This is basically the same stuff as the above picture (or religion ;D)
