I’ve played the game. And I remember this ad from Compute! magazine.

Played it, but I don’t remember if I finished it. ISTR getting hung up on making tea.
I remember having pocket fluff and a thing that your aunt gave you that you don’t know what it is.

Took me FOREVER to get the Babel fish… ran the machine out of fish a few times..
Never finished though.
In the post-Zork world, it was the best!

This game is freaking insane. I spent hours on it and still never even got to the part where you meet Zaphod.
Apparently my brother-in-law was near obsessed with it years ago- he had pages of printed-out instructions to keep track of what he needed to do to survive. Don’t know if he ever finished it or not.

I had various copies of this game on various systems since I was 8 years old… could never get past the Heart of Gold. My bro-in-law managed to finish it, though. He’s the guy I’d give any of my old Zork-like games to, once I gave up on them.

I played that one about a year before the one was made with the images and such. Prefer the plain text one though. My favourite part was getting the babel fish – It was hilarious. Never did finish it though. Ridiculously hard, it is.

I’ve never been good at these games, but I love H2G2, so I figured I could get pretty far. Uh, no. Not at all.
