    1. It’s not your final velocity, which is your initial velocity plus your acceleration times time, that kills you. It’s the impulse, which is your mass times your change in velocity divided by change in time.

    2. i thought the phrase went “its not the fall that will kill you, its the sudden stop at the bottom.”

      is this really the best way to express that?

      • this one says that it’s not your final speed that kills you, it’s the force of your sudden change of momentum. If they wanted to they could say it’s not the delta y = v sub zero t + 1/2 * a*t^2, which is the distance you fall.
