    DieA, I grew up on both of them. I remember Beyonce from teenage Destiny’s Child with Wyclef, and Jay-Z before he was Jigga, Hove, and whatever he calls himself now.

    Beyonce is 99% Eye Candy, and J is all about rapping about clublife and bling. So yea, i’ll pass.

    lol.. DiA I usually agree with you but damn.

    Beyonce is a spoiled whore too “good” for her hometown in Houston, TX whose daddy has been pimping her out for decades. 1/2 her songs are about getting no respect from men (regardless of the fact that she only wrote a small portion of them) she still sgreed to sing them. And the vast majority of the rest of her music is asking to be used and abused by the same men she’s gonna cry about 2 songs later.

    Jay-Z… well he’s not a douche liek Kanye, but he’s not some “prim and proper” Uncle Tom like you think he is. Pretty sure songs like “44 Fours” and “Poppin Tags” are gang-related lyrics. And he has his fair share of “hoes” music and videos. A few of which feature that ho sitting next to him as the eyecandy of choice. Hell just youtube his name. lol.

    They aren’t “evil” I don’t “hate” rap. I just don’t care about them. Most of the freestyle and R&B I enjoy, mocks people like them. People who sing about hard hard their life is/was out of one mouth and then do a follow up song about how rich and attractive to the opposite sex they’ve become. Meh. I like my music with lies and schizophrenia thanks.

    So you’re judging Beyonce because she doesn’t accept where she came from, and Jay Z because he does have two “gang-related” tracks. See the inconsistency there.

    I don’t know much about Beyonce’s music, but I do like Jay Z, he’s one of the few famous rappers I enjoy, and even if he had some “gangster” tracks, it’s not what he does today. He definitely doesn’t represent those rappers that make so many people hate rap.

    I didn’t say you or anyone should like rap or Jay Z, my comment was in reply to the “talentless assholes” comment which is an overreaction and ridiculous. Music is subjective, and even though I think they’re undoubtedly talented, that doesn’t say much. Anyway with people like Kanye and Lady Gaga or whatever, I think it’s not that hard to appreciate these two even if one doesn’t like their music.

    Nobody is perfect, and there you have two black musicians who made it and are far from being as bad as %99 of the rest and they get called assholes.

    Regardless, he still doesn’t rap about anything with substance. I’ll stick with Saul and Sage and Dead Prez, thank you.

    Personally, I do like the album which has 99 problems on it a lot. His new D.O.A. is different but definitely enjoyable.

    However he’s nowhere on my quality rappers list. My favourite rappers are Sage Francis and doseone. Saul Williams is paramount as well.
    I should listen to some more Dead Prez though.

    I’d have to say “Typical hatin'” is such an ignorant remark.
    When people don’t appreciate what has been gifted upon them.
    The result can be this. It’s not because he or she is black.
    It’s not because he or she have more than me.
    It’s because IMO these people are considered Idols upon young adolescences and adults all among us.

    Most of these “Artists” hunger for the money, fame, & Lifestyle.
    It’s a horrendous never ending circle.
    1. They only sing about the stuff that gets them the money
    2. Uneducated adolescence look up to these people as idols
    3. Because they look up to these people, they unnoticeable apply the
    fundamentals of a song to their daily lives.
    4. Because they listen to that, the artist makes more of the same thing so it can make more money.

    Of course more can be explain why this isn’t typical hatin’ but yea,
    anyhow it’s 2:12AM and I’m out of Orange Juice.
