By far the coolest Star Trek captain. Pity they never followed up on the ambiguous ending of the series.

They did, they just did it via books. They stopped doing that mass produced amazingly OOC crap series of books they had done for so long, someone bought a clue and reigned in continuity. Books were actually pretty good as I recall. Rather see a good story finished in books than either left unresolved or resolved on TV but with cast cuts that make a brain bleed.
