Because piracy isn’t getting you a discount, it’s getting you locked software.
Odds are that same “discount” is available to a bunch of other keywords as well, all in the effort to make you think you’ve saved some coin as you fork over your cash.
I like taking things I didn’t buy as much as the next guy, but look at the bigger picture every now and then.

The bigger picture is that for company trying to make money with single purpose utilities, open source is more of a “threat” than piracy.
