I read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, I found it lacking, the main characters were never in any real danger of Zombies. They only acted as part of the environment the characters happened to be in.

Yeah. I liked it, but I agree. There was never any real danger for the characters and the zombies were kinda, eh, bitched out a bit.

It got old after the first couple of chapters. As a short story, it would have been very funny. But as a book, it went on too long.

It was good, but did get a little old. Honestly I thought the best part were the book club conversation starters at the end.

definitely! There were a few parts that I thought were lol funny, but they were pretty few and far between.
The biggest struggle for me was getting used to the writing style. It was a good fifty pages before I could figure out what the hell they were saying. And then I started talking all proper and shit.

I just started reading this. The barista at my Target Starbucks said it was good, and I’m pretty sure her literary tastes are without reproach so fuck you guys.

I read it and I LOVED it. It kept the tone of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice while including the zombies. But you do have to have read and understood the original to like be entertained by the addition of zombies to this classic romantic comedy…..I think anyways

I’ve enjoyed it quite a bit so far but could not get far in her original writing. I’m only on the 16th chapter, but, hey, whatever.
I can recall several moments already where the central characters were in danger. It just turns out that these are the stupid ass zombies of the original Dawn of the Dead, where a humorous collection of zombie fun can be seen.
