    1. The country’s already quasi-socialist and few people seem to care. Stop fucking whining about something you don’t understand, and stop believing every horror story you hear unless they provide actual evidence.

    2. So you’re using the image of an anarchist (the Joker) to accuse someone of being a socialist. *facepalm*
Not mention that the jury is still out on whether socialism is a bad thing.

    3. Wait! Remind me again, because I keep losing track… *who* was the President when the Heroic Capitalists on Wall Street took off with a few tens of billions of my economy’s wealth? And now I’m supposed to get angry at Obama for being “socialist”?

      I have two questions:

      1) What is Socialism? Define it, please, and then tell me how it applies to any new government program, and how those differ from programs that already exist.

And, 2) Why isn’t Dick Cheney dangling from the end of a rope?

    4. Wow. I’m not a fan of Obama, but that’s just poor. The joker was, like Reboot said, an anarchist and not a socialist.

As for the general accusation that Obama is a socialist and the U.S. is becoming a socialist country, let’s just face it there is some truth to it: Last time I read, the government now owns 60% of a GM. The government also limited salaries for executives of companies that took bailout money. Maybe that was a good way to make sure the money wasn’t “wasted,” which I’m pretty sure it was anyway, but the government shouldn’t tell people how much they can make. Healthcare-wise, if we honestly think WE can pull off socialized healthcare correctly and not be fucked and lose boatloads of money, we should consider just bombing ourselves for being stupid. Sure it’s a good idea, but nobody can do it right.

    5. Anyone who believes Obama is even remotely socialist either has no idea what socialism is or has no idea who Obama is.

      • I support Obama and I would disagree, I think Obama is moderately Socialist, but it’s a good thing. We’ll never see the US turn completely Socialist but we need government intervention now and then, especially now. And there’s a very strong reason everyone has socialized healthcare (except us).

        • Trust me, noone would be happier if Obama was socialist, but he’s not. All of Obama’s cabinet picks have been from the financial sector, former hedge-fund jockeys and investment company CEOs, that’s about as far away from socialism as you can get.

    6. Yes, the joke is on the Republicans. Palin 2012 for the lolz.

    7. Republicans have literally nothing of any cultural relevance to add to the world. They are dull and uncreative white people who are doing everything they can to either regress our freedoms (ie, legislating our morality in the form of anti-abortion, anti-gay marriage, anti-stem cell research, etc.) or shit on the few genuine and awesome accomplishments Americans have achieved in the last 300 years.

Seriously, get creative, get interesting, or get out.

And also stop shilling for corporate interests. It’s fucking disgusting.

You should not be placed in a position of even the smallest hint of responsibility, duty or judgement. At any point in time.

That’s called common-sense not socialism. Some companies had wet ink on their bonus checks, ready to dish ’em out as they got bailout money. I don’t care who you voted for, unless you’re in the special olympics, not a single person in the world should be rewarded with failure.

Now let’s keep our wits about us for 3 more years until we can get Palin in office. >_>

    9. The bleating is as expected. If only the rest of the peons could attain the same omniscient viewpoint expressed here, the world would truly achieve the enlightened state evinced by you worthies.
A surprising lack of race card display, although consolation prize to m00seburger for the “…uncreative white people…” etc. etc. non-racist racism. Seriously, get creative, get interesting, or get out.

      • The bleating is as expected.

You don’t even understand the words that you are using. “Bleating” implies repeating short slogans with no meaning. If one makes a well-reasoned, substantial argument it’s not bleating, even if you disagree.
Also you misquoted m00seburger. If you can’t even copy/paste correctly, why should anyone listen to what you have to say about complicated subjects like politics?

      • It ain’t about race, Mr. Person (though the republicans do bleed a little white, don’t they?). It’s a matter of what’s missing from the whole of republican culture. Conservatives are anti-everything progressive which generally turns creative people off. Thus, republicans have little – if anything – of any cultural relevance or value to add to anything.

Furthermore, the arrogant attitude postured by the right wing claiming a monopoly on patriotism and “Americanism” is just stupid. Ya’ll aren’t patriotic. Not with your whine-about-everything say-no-to-everything politics. That’s puritanism and, at best the kind of dull attitude reserved for lazy people and automatons.

Again, get creative. Become an interesting progressive force – even with the dumbass politics of your anti-party and I’ll respect you more. It’s just all these boring photochops and shitty pieces of shock imagery that are just so boring…

Fuck. Just. Stop being so lame and people might like you.

    12. hell, I ain’t racist…I pretty much hate everyone fairly equally.

But this? This is kinda funny…yeah The Joker was an anarchist as was already stated. And some NY fishwrap did up Dubbya as the Joker already so there is nothing really new here. But as for the Obamassiah being too far left, I only ask that you look at his voting record from the past.

And as for Socialism not being a bad thing then perhaps you should talk to some folks in Eastern Europe that are in their late 30’s to early 40’s.

As for what I really would like to see for our nation? Straight libertarian ticket for 2012…let the states do what they need to do on their own. Ron Paul FTW.

    14. This is just more Conservative asshat propaganda… They decided to use an icon that their mindless media soaked minions would rally behind…

Socialism is not a bad thing plain and simple… Just look at every other Industrialized western nation… Our Capitalist ways where the cause of the economic downfall and we took the rest of the world with us…

Americans who rally against a Socialist movement are ether ignorant, paranoid or are just far to greedy…

Our current healthcare system excludes the poor… or hard working people who simply cannot afford it. A social option will only work to control the cost inflation caused by allowing our healthcare system to become profit based. Because… at the end of the day… private sector insurance will chose the bottom line over the people.

    15. The joker wasn’t an anarchist. He was a sociopath and a nihilist. Anarchism is a real political philosophy that comes in many varieties – check out Emma Goldman, Kropotkin, Johann Most, Proudhon, Albert Parsons, August Spies …

The so-called socialist countries mentioned are mixed market, just like we are. The US has lots of socialized programs, but unfortunately they underwrite corporate losses while protecting private profits. When the American people want to put people first, they’re demagogued.

    16. What the real joke is, is that Obama and the Democrat controlled Congress more than tripled the National Debt in just 6 months and no one seems to care.

The punch line is, that money coming out of everyone’s pockets, which includes you, your parent’s, your children’s and their children.

    18. Gor – Real economists (and not demagogues) have credited that expanded deficit spending to heading off a complete crash like the early 1930s. I do care that the deficit has exploded, and I cared when we were sending troops overseas and giving rich people a tax cut. We need a massive tax increase, but we need economic recovery first.

      • I have no problem spending money to fix something, but much of the money is being spent on really stupid shit or paying off those that help them get elected and is not going to benefit the average person (like the John Murtha Airport or the underground tuttle tunnel on Florida’s US 27, here’s a short list www.jasonmdurham.com/?p=177). Also, real economist know that the only proven way get an economy going to by LOWERING TAXES, no recovery ever happen enacting massive tax increases.

As for troops overseas, Obama is continueing to follow the exact same game plan as Bush, but if everyone remembers correctly Obama attack Bush on having our troops overseas and promised to cut back, yet he has failed to do so.In fact, he is increasing our presence overseas. He is the Commander-in-Chief and doesn’t need Congressnial approval to bring our soldiers home. Personally I think he is doing the right thing there (more troops and drone attacks), but it is not what he promised on the campaign trail.
