It the book they had no raised firing positions that’s why (among other things) they got there asses handed to them.

iirc, they did have some raised positions, but they weren’t very effective at what they were doing.
also: idiots bring tanks to zombie fights. duh.

I think I agree. It’d offer some good protection, but other than running them over, I can’t see it being too useful.
