There was this mayor (in Romania, but forgot in which city) that when to a fashion show and came dressed like a nazi general (oh yeah, he was with his son, who was dressed as a nazi solider). SHOCKING… At least that’s what the news is telling me.
He had a very very tiny swastika on his belt. OH MY GOD!
Yeah, today I found out it’s illegal to wear a swastika, in public, in Romania. Which is fucked… Wearing the sickle and hammer, no problem.
It’s actually a shame law… In 2004 some guy discovered that a truck load of truck loads of jews were executed in Romania. That’s when Romania said: “Whoops… let’s ban the sign, that’ll erase everything. Where’s America so I can bend down and suck it’s cock?”

Interestingly enough, the US Constitution doesn’t apply outside of the US, no matter what the government wants people to believe. And the Romanian constitution actually includes provisions that make banning the swastika legal.

It is also banned in Germany. But down by the Amplatzel in Munich I found a small curio shop selling coins with swastikas on them from 1937,38,39. I said to the shop keeper, “Do you speak english?” He acted annoyed and said, NO. I said, “Sie haben in das fenster munzen aus der dritte Reich, nicht var?” He almost broke a leg snatching them out of the window. As a result of that law high school kids in Germany never even heared of WW II, let alone Nazi mass murders.

You didn’t check the right section, apparently. From the Romanian Constitution, Chapter II, Article 30, Clause (?) 7: “Any defamation of the country and the nation, any instigation to a war of aggression, to national, racial, class or religious hatred, any incitement to discrimination, territorial separatism, or public violence, as well as any obscene conduct contrary to morality shall be prohibited by law.” Banning Nazi could fit under that.

Now, that’s not to say that I agree with it. Large parts of Europe have some huge fucking issues with the things their countries did during WWII, and the fact that they just refuse to deal with it and don’t want you to talk about it is pretty much a stupid, stupid thing to do. Face your issues, people.
But legally? It’s constitutional.

Iran had a freedom of speech conference. The NY Times printed it was a Holocaust deniers conference. The point was even holocaust deniers were welcome. So ever since the leader of Iran was labeled a Nazi apologist which is a lie of course.
But the open minds of the first liberal world who are so open minded that they just want you to be open minded too and think exactly like they do. Anyone who doesn’t should die.
I have no sympathy for anyone dumb enough to deny the holocaust. I also have no sympathy for people who bump up the numbers from 2 million to 9 millions and cry and scream at people for not agreeing with them. To me thats just as stupid as the denial.

What you’re describing isn’t a liberal issue any more than it’s a conservative issue. It’s an extremist issue. Both sides are just as bad about the exact same thing when you get to the extremes. Neither liberals nor conservatives are inherently bad. It’s the *-wing nutcases that are bad.

The operative difference being right wing nutcases is a term. How often is the term left wing nutcase thrown around? Maybe .05% and only as a reaction.

That’s the thing about being middle of the road: You don’t have perceptional bias on these things. If you’re further on one side or the other, you’re going to notice more often when terms insulting your side are used than when terms insulting the other side are used. When you sit closer to the middle, you’ll notice both almost equally ( Even if that’s “not at all” ;p )

What we percieve as “right and good” in itself, today, is interesting. Due to our quite recent past, freedom, and freedom of speech, has become some kind of high popular ideal. Yet, its also considered quite alright to deck someone that calls your significant other a whore/idiot whatever.
In my opinion, society should try to popularize some ideals that are inherently positive, and supress those that are inherently negative, instead of clinging to something as diffuse as this “freedom of speech”.
And i guess the next argument in line is “who decides what is inherently negative?”. Well, sure, some of these questions might get very philosophical and vague, but i think we should all atleast agree that murder is bad, mm? Thats a better starting point then “freedom” atleast.

Freedom of speech is very important, it furthers science.
Cutting small parts every other time could accumulate and make this freedom nonexistent.
