This was the basis for the classic remake “The Magnificent Seven” with Yul Brenner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaughn, James Coburn, Brad Dexter, Horst Buchholz, and Eli Wallach as the bad guy ‘Calvera’

Kurosawa’s ‘Hidden Fortress’was also one of the inspirations for ‘Star Wars, ‘Yojimbo’ inspired ‘For a fistful of dollars’ (which was then remade into that wful pile of Bruce Willis shit, ‘Last man standing’.
Kurosawa rocked. Hard.
