    Yeah, I was gonna say triffids, seeing as everyone goes blind in triffids, so it would be fitting with the title.

    Triffids definitely, that is exactly how they are described in the book.

    Of course, Triffids can’t see, because they don’t have eyes. But they do appear to be able to sense sound and scent. Humans can do that too, but someone suddenly rendered blind will require weeks to acquire any degree of efficiency and accuracy with ears and nose.
