Macs are Personal Computers too.

Also i have a friend who has a Mac, and keeps wailing about how much better Macs are than the PC i built WITH MY BARE NERD HANDS!

While Apple was concerned about IBM’s ability to make a chip competitive with intel, the real reason they jumped ship was for cheaper pricing. Apple’s business model is hi-end, custom made with low order quantities. IBM was willing to work with Apple on this, but not come down any further in price. So yes, the powerpc chips were superior, and now you’re running the inferior Intel chipset. A smarter business move for 64 bit computing would have been for Apple to partner with AMD, which at the time was offering a superior chip (not so true now although let’s see what’s up with their gpu’s)

So, yes, you could argue it’s the same device (though if you really got into the benchmark testing you’d be wrong), but it still has the superior OS, although admittedly Windows 7 is pretty sexy for a microsoft OS.

That said…you ALL know that the linux users just see another thread like this and shake their heads.

Superior device, NO! Same device, different OS.

All of that being said, everyone just use what you like and just STFU.

So you don’t like a OS? Peachy, then go away and stop bugging everyone complaining about how stupid the people that use them are.

That said, I fucking love Apples, but I know that in general PCs are better, if only for the fact that the majority of software is on them. And the price. And the customizabilty. But I still fucking love Apples.

However, like all social people, she hangs out with her coworkers. Now, since I hang out with her, I get to hang out with her coworkers.

Then, because she’s such a zealot, she is trying to convert every single person we know to Apple. So far she’s gotten everyone with an extra $2,000 to spare that only really use computers for the internet. Sadly, that’s about 80% of my friends.

They are also starting to use her rhetoric. So, yeah, it is a reality. I deal with these people A LOT.

I used to build computers from scratch. Still do for my home systems. I’ve also owned a Mac (because, hey, you have to actually experience something to know what you’re talking about). I know computers.

You may ask why I mention that. That’s because the next step in a discussion like this is you attacking PCs. You may not, now that I mentioned it, and I hope that’s the case. Not that I’ll be here to respond, but I might, and it’s annoying how often I have these conversations.

tl;dr – It’s not a stereotype when it’s true.
