I don’t seem to remember those from any cannon sources.
Also, that world does not fit the description of any the Death Star Orbited.
Must be an alternate time line….
(on a side note, wtf would have been wrong with dreadnoughts? Looked bad ass, would have provided much needed continuity)

Do you mean the dreadnaught heavy cruiser? www.starwars.com/databank/starship/dreadnaught/index.html
They’re a bit old and outdated. Still dangerous, though.

The world is probably supposed to be Coruscant. AFAIK In the Comics (never read them) the empire built one Star Destroyer class that had a deathstar laser in it. In the EU (books)they never built anything larger than a super star destroyer. Which was nowhere near as large as those ships.

Isn’t the SSD the one between the ‘naught and the Death Star?

There were a couple of star destroyers with superlasers in the expanded universe, but I imagine that the Eclipse class is the most well known.

SW Question?
Were the Death Star(s) designed/equiped with hyperdrive? If not, how did it get from Alderaan to Yavin

so quickly?

Magic.

Yes, it had a hyperdrive, and Star Wars hyperdrives can cross the galaxy in a couple days. It depends on the hyperspace lanes – some are faster than others. It’s often faster to cross the galaxy than to go straight from one core world to another.

@vrik. Yes those. Great ships. Try not to use SW.com tho; information there get re-written per Lucas’s whim and is not reliable.
@ No one in Particular.
It did not have A hyperdrive
it had 100rds (if not thousands I don’t want to look it up)
@ Darthmalt. Good memory; however the nose section appeared to be cut away; creating a pincer like appearance. I think you can find some infomation on the Star Wars Technical Commentaries website @ www.theforce.net/swtc/index.html
If you ever fine any of the Omnibuses of Comics by Dark Horse, read um. You’ll be glad you did.
