The title says WW2 but I guess they could have made this stuff during WW1 and the chemical warfare they started with the mustard gas and so on..

Gas assaults in WWII were considered and protected against but neither side wanted to use them because they feared an even greater retaliation from the side they used them against.

That should be “das Kindergasmasker”.

No, it should be ‘die Kindergasmasken.’
It’s either ‘Maske’, which is singular, or ‘Masken’, which is plural.
Why would they use the English word for ‘Maske’ if they use the German definite article ‘das.’
‘Kinder’ and ‘Gas’ are in German also.
