Wrong. M-16. M-14s are sturdier for the more powerful .30-06 round rather than the .223.

By 1988 (when I went to boot)Navy was the only service that still used the M-14 outside of fancy rifle drill or color detail. And we didn’t get to do fun stuff like what is shown above.
That could be the Navy. The Navy has uniforms like that for the MAs and Seabees.
And they would give people a fake weapon to fight with to save money.
Actually, using plastic M16s for the bayonet course saves us from repairing the real ones, thus saving money.
@Macol: The real ones aren’t built strong enough to fight with a bayonet? Are our M16′s made in China too?
@Puulaahi: They are, but when you do the simple math, and have a weapon that’s handled extremely roughly by hundreds, if not thousands, of people a year, then it’ll start to wear and tear.
He’s certainly hispanic, so this tire must be a real contender if he’s having a hard time stealing it.
