@dieAntagonista: It’s basically the religion that created all the religions we have today. Most of Judaism and Christianity owe their roots to Zoroastrianism, not to mention many eastern religions.

@Paul_Is_Drunk: Hey wait a second. Zarathustra? I do know a lot about Zarathustra. How come I’ve never heard this term before, hm. I didn’t know he was also called Zoroaster. There goes my credibility.
I’ll study up this evening after I come home, I promise.
Zoroaster sounds stupid though. It makes me think of zoo-roaster. And it wants to auto-correct Zarathustra into Frustration. Ah FireFox you know me too well.

On a related note, Zathura was an awesome movie.

That was Persia state religion (remember 300? Ok, maybe not a good example). Only a handfull believers remains today, Islam replaced it when Iran was conquered by the muslims.
Yet another belief destroyed by “forced” conversions.

@dieAntagonista: I’d have to check, but I think it’s pronounced “Zoe-roe-ASS-ter”.
Because that sounds so much better.

Abraham’s religion when he was a Mitani in Mespotamia. The Christ concept, animal sacrifice, resurrection and biblical numerology are derived from this religion.

Is it just me, or is that guy in the wedding picture smoking hot?

@deuce: It’s not just you.
Good taste.

@Nimbo: You mean a Buddy-Zoroas. Mazda is the deity (of good), opposed by Ahriman.

You remember Zoroaster. The guy the people who concocted the Jesus myth plagiarized to come up with all those cute, witty sayings.
