  1. If it goes fast and it’s Italian. I like it. Can’t go wrong with those standards.

  2. Wonderful looking car – esp the GT5-S. Lovely Italian-American car (Ford engine) the Pantera was.

  3. Desmo valves? if no, gtfo.

  4. @redxblack: I don’t think so, from what i understand Desmodromic valves are used in racing engines. And considering Detomaso himself had a bad experience with them while racing i doubt he would put them in a production vehicle. Even today the only company that really uses desmos is Ducati. And even then it is an outdated design with an outdated purpose. Modern F1 engines use complex hydraulic valve operation that has eliminate the need for camshafts(although they are still used).

  5. Ford 351 Cleveland. i painted the rear half of one of these long ago. ridden in two. bad ass cars.

  6. Ducati’s Desmo valves are still in heavy use because they are superior in a v-twin or v-four configuration. It allows for high revs without valve bounce as the valve is not only pushed open but also pulled shut. If you use standard spring valves then you get valve bounce. Honda have tried pneumatic valves but have never got them to work as good as Desmo valves.
