@deuce: Sage is shorthand for sageru (下げる), meaning ‘to move backwards’, used frequently in internet imageboards to reply to threads without bumping them.
Of course, it’s usually written as “Sage goes in every field” meaning “I’m not bumping this awful thread, and you should put sage in every field so you don’t you don’t bump it either.”
I have no idea what’s going on. 4chan both perplexes and terrifies me.
