Senseless killing of animals is beyond lame. If you do at least use every part of the animal. Real human beings who gave a fuck used to do that in the past.

@...Puulaahi: Shows what you know. Most ancient hunters only took what they could carry and left the rest. NOBODY is better than a modern slaughter house at using the ENTIRE animal. You think they just cut a bit off the cow and toss the rest? You need to take a tour some time. The skin gets made into leather, virtually every scrap of meat is used, and what’s left is ground up and used for fertilizer or feed for some other animal.

And modern slaughter houses to just dump the excess. They don’t only if they are heavily regulated by the govt.

This American Life, a documentary series on Showtime (I think), had a really good episode in season 1 about a pig farmer, that was sometimes difficult to watch.
