Some twits in a 30ft boat, no flag, waving weapons, came out of a little island and went after our tender. Guess they didn't see the cruisers or us on the carrier spread out. The pair of F 14 Tomcats on low cap did see them, dropped to about 75 feet off the deck, and was doing about 1.2 mach when they passed over the little boat. 2 days later scuttlebutt was that the Government of Malaysia was protesting our "accidental" sinking of a police watercraft. So no, we are not allow to just sink any one out there with guns in the bow.

Holy Shit! Your not going to believe this but that is my orange t-shirt that Somali Pirate on top is wearing! I put it and several other old clothing items in a charity drop box in Northern California about a year and a half ago. Whamo! there is my shirt commandeering a huge ocean going vessel! Way to go shirt!

@mikoyangurevich15: i understand what you say but, as how the system goes save a life no matter what, only if cannot then sacrifices has to be made. but if say you are kidnapped by Taliban for example, your country will negotiate and if it fails they send the commandos to get you IF they know WHERE you are..

@ColombianMonkey.I meant targeting the potential hijackers vessel.If arms are on board,this is proof of hostile intent.Hostage “rescue” is more often than not a messy affair.It seldom works out as planned.So prevent that scenario from the start.

You know ,this is a ridiculous situation.Some of the most potent,modern and heavily armed warships afloat are not being permitted to deal effectively with what are simply thugs.If faced with a weapon most law enforcement or military personnel are trained to instantly react to the threat.If you are in a small vessel,in international waters and you are armed with RPG-7`s and assault rifles then the obvious conclusion is that you are not fishing to feed your family.Political sensitivities be damned.Attack them,already!
