The strange thing about Goya’s was that it was painted onto his house. Can you imagine walking by and seeing that picture on a house?

Always bite into the neck first. Otherwise it will struggle. Unless you’re into your food fighting back.

@Paul_Is_Drunk:
or unless you’re a fucking god and don’t give a shit.
I like the Goya painting more, it’s just.. way creepier. This one kinda has a pedobear thing going for it that I’m not too fond of.

There was a prophesy that one of Saturn’s children would overthrow him, so he devoured his children as soon as they were born to prevent this. That is what this picture shows.

@Foxy: If I remember correctly Zeus was saved by ?? who gave Saturn a rock to swallow rather than Zeus.

@dorix: Thank you, thank you…

Actually, Saturn is the Roman name. The Greek name would be Cronus. If we were to use the Roman names, then Zeus would be Jupiter.
@nyokki: That would be the work of Zeus’s mother and Cronus’s wife, Gaia (Terra in Roman mythology).
Much later, Zeus got his father to puke out the other children he ate before him (whom he had actually swallowed whole, rather than munch them as depicted here) including Poseidon (Neptune), Hades (Pluto), Hera (Juno), Demeter (Ceres), and Hestia (Vesta).

@Silverwolf: Lol Thanx. I knew someone would know it. Somedays I’m just too lazy to google or wiki.

I like Goya’s a lot better. This one Saturn is just violent and enraged. Goya’s it looks as if he has gone insane at the thought of what he is doing.
