Clearly some people need to read the classics.

@shiroinohi: I’m rereading them now, thanks to this post.

Quite amusing.
For those of you who are don’t get it, these are the Endless, personifications of universal forces from Neil Gaiman’s Sandman. In the first picture, from left to right, are Desire, Despair, Delirium, Dream, Death, Destiny, and Destruction. It’s a truly excellent read.

Bad art of someone else’s idea.

A lot of people apparently have no idea what Sandman is.
This would be one messed up TV kids show. I’d probably watched it baked, like Dora the Explorer.

The monk? Uh…
@Paul_Is_Drunk: It would be a messed up kids show. The manga about Death was pretty messed up, too, in a kind of awesome way.

Sounds interesting… Decided to give it a try.

Thought maybe some of you would as well.

I just read the Jill Thompson (whose the artist above) and Mick Foley Wrascale Lane book as my daughter’s bed time story. Timing!

I need to dig up my old sandman comics and re-read them. I feel so un-nerdy by not being able to name all the characters off the top of my head.
March 26, 2009 at 6:13 am
I read the comics as they came out (god, what…20 years ago?!) up through “Kindly Ones”, plus I have several collections.
@Skulltimo: I didn’t even know JT drew/painted these. Wow…she’s come a long way. She did the art on what was probably my favorite story-arc (that I now forget the title of –the one where Dream had to go look for long-lost Destruction) and I have to say that of all the Sandman artists, I liked her work the least. Just her line, really –it simply bothered my eyes. So now these pics are redeeming as well as amusing.

@Belbo: Get out.

@ColombianMonkey:
“Monk”?
Fucking get the fuck out.
March 26, 2009 at 2:39 pm
@Belbo: Well, considering Sandman had a different artist for every story arc, even if this is not one of THE Sandman artists (which it sounds like it is) you can’t say it is a bad interpretation of someone else’s art, because so many people did the art it doesn’t really belong to anyone(except maybe Gaimen, but he didn’t really draw anything himself). Plus lil Death and lil Dream are directly out of the comics…
@everyone else: if you have read this cool, if you haven’t please don’t just criticize because you don’t understand what it is.
I like it personally. She was one of my favorite artists.
