The party ideals couldn't be more different. Yeah, that's obvious to anyone who studied the course of politics and history in the United States, but too many idiots have the "same name/same party" mentality, and try to absorb this brilliant, self-sacrificing man into a party that has become nothing but a vile pit of hate. Somehow I just have a hard time seeing Lincoln hanging out with the likes of Rush Limbaugh & Sarah Palin. Stuff like this makes me sad that people try to ‘claim’ Lincoln for the modern Republican party.
