Become one with the fish and the fish comes to you.

@luigibrasile: Actually it’d probably just be OM at this exact moment in time.

the photographer must have had an extremely lucky day, or at least 8 photoshops…
March 14, 2009 at 11:50 pm
@Starkiller: Not lucky… there are at least 100 photographers standing next to whoever took this photo. I’ve seen images of the crowds in the areas where bears often do this… I stopped being impressed by these images after I saw that.

@outofocus: LOL Sounds just like Professional Surf Photography. 100 guys snapping shots at the same sport for the perfect shot. So at least a quarter of them, if not a half get the same perfect shot.

@Puulaahi: That’s how it is for most pro-things… airplane shots, race shots, etc. They all get the same image… and then try to get it submitted to the magazines before the others (if they don’t have a contract with said magazines).
I love on the spot photography and would be good at that stuff but I hate competition of that nature… standing next to people shooting 100 frames during the time I’ve shot 5. It disgusts me so I never got into it.

@outofocus: I’ve always liked National Geographic style of roughing it and waiting to get the perfect shot.
March 15, 2009 at 12:14 am
@Puulaahi: Yeah… man. That was my childhood dream.
The discovery channel HD shooting, like the Planet Earth series is pretty damn impressive as well.
March 15, 2009 at 12:25 am
@outofocus: Exactly. Me too. My dream job is to be a camera man for Nat Geo or Discovery or Hollywood or Independent.
I love the Planet Earth Series and of course Blue Planet. Jaw dropping cinematography. Raw nature is so beautiful.

pure or raw?

If that fish was capable of conscious thought, it would be thinking something like this….
“Aw, FUCK!!!”
March 15, 2009 at 1:09 pm
@sleepyjoe256: maybe they do know.
March 15, 2009 at 1:19 pm
@Immanuel: that would really suck. It’s too bad they have to jump out of the water to make any headway against falls like that.

@Puulaahi:
Just have to wonder when the bear says to itself:”To hell with standing in this cold water, those papparrazi gotta have a sammich or two on em..”
March 15, 2009 at 9:39 pm
@SumoSnipe: It’s a bear dude. Hungry Bear just wants to eat.
