Huntsman spiders are almost everywhere…i dont get why people hate, and are so scared of spiders…spiders eat other insects…would you rather have a handful of spiders hiding out in your house, or a few thousand roaches, mosquitos, flys, and other insects?

@Svartmetall: Yeah, hairy_testicles’s got a point. If you move to a spot on the globe that is diametrically opposite where these things live, chances are you’ll be living right next to another one. Your best bet may be to go perpendicular… Antarctica maybe?

that’s kind of a scary spider… and i’m kind of a person who likes spiders generally. particularly wolf and jumping spiders – those big color macro photos you can find on the web, and go “awwwwww cute!”

I’m phobic of european wasps (which this spider appears to be eating). I don’t like spiders, but huntsmen spiders are fairly placid, and if they’re going to eat wasps, then I’ll start a collection – outside my home.
@bluebec: I’m fine w/ spiders, as long as they’re outside the house and not to close to me. Inside the house or close enough to startle me, they’re toast, squished toast.
