Yeah, I remember this sequence. Thor was under a curse that he couldn’t heal or die, and was a puddle of armoured mush after the battle.
I think this happened not long after he was the Frog of Thunder.

@SirWishbone: Yeah, I think this was the last one where Simonson illustrated the issue. He kept writing & doing the covers until his overall story-arc was completed, but Sal Buscema took over the art –fine, solid work, but didn’t have Simonson’s verve.
I especially love the issue right after this, where a sub-plot with an old Kirby villain, the Destroyer, comes to the fore…[TO BE CONTINUED IN A FUTURE POST...:D]
