Some of those scenes in Star Trek TOS make more sense, now.

  1. There were a few revisions in the Constitution class over time. Originally, the torpedo launcher was in the top part of the saucer section where it shows the phasers, not in the bottom. There were no phasers on the top. On the Secondary hull, the phaser was on the top of the docking bay instead of underneath. There are complete schematics, deck by deck, on the “Forgotten Trek” TOS web page:

  2. Set phasers to sleep-alone

  3. I love the fact that the main computer takes up something like 3 or 4 decks. It’s probably 16 bit, too.

  4. There’s a scene in Star Trek V (“The Final Frontier”) where Kirk falls down about 100 decks in an Enterprise turbolift shaft, only to get grabbed at the last second by Spock wearing rocket boots.

Of course, I always agreed with everybody else that the movie was an apocrophytical abomination.

  5. ST5 is widely regarded by fans as the worst of the lot.

Blame Shatner, it was his vehicle.

Although, Uhura’s dancing was oddly hypnotic…

  6. Jedi or Sith would kick their ass.

  7. Man, I never noticed before how many kegs and crates of cheese they can carry in the hold.

  8. Where’s the transporter room?

  9. @hufnmouth: In the picture above, it’s just above the photo torpedo image (deck 6 forward). In the original schematics, they’re on deck 7, port and starboard, the primary section cargo transporter is on deck 10, and the emergency transporters are on deck 22 in the secondary section.

  10. Oh, and the cargo transporter for the secondary section is on deck 23.

  11. Phail Jeffries tubes r phail.

  12. @Phyreblade: Ironically, the inventor of said tubes was named “Phail Jeffries”.

  13. @WhiskeyTango: Maybe they just needed all that RAM for the transporters.

  14. @HoChunk: Well. what a coinkydink! Who wouldathunkit?

  15. His parents never thought he’d amount to much.
