Probably one of my favorite comics of all time.

@thelotuseater725: I’ll gladly put my name under that sir!

@Adrian: As shall I. I was never a huge fan of comics before Spawn, liked the imagery but could never commit the money. The Spawn happened, now I’m addicted!

a visually impressive series that rarely went anywhere, had far too many undeveloped points, and went back on its own canon a number of times. there was a wealth of material to work with and places the comic could go, but most of it was Spawn moping in the alleyways for 10-20 issues at a time. i spent the time reading it, but i recommend it only to fans of art, and the very patient.

@LtColSimmons Yup, I’d go with that, started out awesome no matter where you jumped on, Spawn was a better Ghost Rider than Ghost Rider, and then… he just sat moping which felt like forever. Is Spawn still going?

I concur

@skulltimo
yea spawn is still going on i haven’t picked up a new issue for a long time. im still waiting to see if Todd Mcfarlane is going to make a remake or a new spawn movie, supposedly its supposed to be a thriller focusing on the two detectives Sam & Twitch.

McFarlane is so good. I miss his Spider-Man.

I remember the original Spawn…looks like it crossed over into gay porn since then.
And what’re Holy Spawn’s powers? To bleed everywhere?

@shit_happening@hotmail.com: “im still waiting to see if Todd Mcfarlane is going to make a remake or a new spawn movie”
Isn’t McFarlane still trying to pay off the Tony Twist settlement? If so, he’d better get crackin’.

wwhy did I read this as “The Redeemer, The Destroyer, The Knight, and the The Foreskin”?

@bigwibble6:
The same reason you didn’t capitalize the first word of your sentence and used two w’s, when one would have sufficed?

@bigwibble6:
Because you have dick on the brain?

Thank you.

Hackneyed. Spawn is the beginner’s guide to comics cliches. They should never have let McFarlane write Spider-Man.
February 20, 2009 at 12:23 am
That’s a lot of spawns… Angel Spawn rocks. Holy Spawn seems a contradiction in terms tho…

@tiki god:
I also remember paragraphs of idiocy afterwards.
Good times.

Kind of like newspapers, right?
