HA… according to those projections.. I’ll be OK… the Bahamas protect the West Palm area… and I’m quite a bit inland and a bit to the south.

    2. RSIxidor says:

I’ve looked past this a couple of times, and I kept thinking it said “salami” which it clearly does not.

    3. MonkeyHitman says:

      i am fucked lol

Blue: Areas below sea level or vulnerable to flooding, either by sea or by rivers.

Seems we had less to worry about before the internet. Now we can panic at the speed of broadband.

      Surf Session! Hell yeah!

2 words…NO WORRIES… A bunch of scientists from all over the world have studied on that same issue with the same island. Turns out that it’s perfectly stable and there is no chance of that kind of seismic activity any time soon. They all say that at it’s current rate of growth, it should be around 10,000 years before it would be potentially unstable enough to slide into the ocean. But the crash wouldn’t be anywhere near enough to make even a small tsunami.

    8. HoChunk says:

      @nobody knows: No shit.
@Elepski: I hope you’re right. BTW, those numbers for the crests & troughs are in meters, and the wave height increases dramatically as they make landfall.
@ytsejam6922: Googling “a bunch of scientists” hasn’t proved as conclusive for me. Source?

Well that’s one way to cut back on Social Security spending.

    12. Puulaahi says:

It could happen. Same for the west coast of the US. If the conditions happen for it to happen, it’ll happen. May be a small chance though. But the likely hood is still there. Man cannot control the weather.

    13. conan776 says:

@GooeyGungan: Wow, someone went to a lot of work to debunk this. Probably means it is true….

    14. storminator says:

let her rip- i dont give a fuck about that entire area.

    15. Elepski says:

@HoChunk: 10 miles inland and 10 miles south of West Palm Beach…. not to mention the affect the Barrier Islands would have on the impact…. now the island of Palm Beach.. yeah they are fucked.

    16. HoChunk says:

@GooeyGungan: Good link. A little butthurt & shrieky for my tastes(“These are lies.” “They were rude to me!”) but at least they come up with a number of points concerning the evidence that can be researched & then substantiated, dismissed or shelved.

      “Two words: HIGHER GROUND”

I hardly see how a Stevie Wonder song will help if…oh, right.

    18. HoChunk says:

@Elepski: At 10 miles you’re probably okay…although isn’t most of southern Florida less than 30 feet above sea level? And while it’s true the Bahamas would take a large part of the brunt, rememember that there’s a lot of room for those waves going around them (especially to the north.)

Just start lookin’ at nearby trees for their climbability and I’ll consider you saved. 🙂

    19. HoChunk says:

@Leanstrum: Well, you’ll be meeting your maker with a snappy tune in your head, at least.

    23. draikyn says:

Is it wrong that at a glance I thought this was a map of the development from zygote to implantation?
(that would be when an egg gets frtilised, divides, grows into a blastocyst and then implants in the myometrium)

Damn uni! I’m actually learning things!

    24. vandal says:

@RSIxidor: aHAHAHAHA hahaha hahaha oh man

    25. HoChunk says:

@SumoSnipe: Probably. Watch out for meteorites.

    26. SumoSnipe says:

@HoChunk: Nah. Meteorites is what the feds want us to think has been falling out of the sky for the past 62 years round here….

    27. HoChunk says:

@SumoSnipe: lol…Watch out for weather balloons, then.
