They should use Driver Cleaner and then install the latest drivers for the printers, and make sure all machines have the same version of the drivers. Usually you don't have to worry about that, but Microsoft has no control over the quality of the drivers created by third parties. Then again, if the IT department are that clueless, it's probably a problem they created themselves unwittingly. Sounds like a driver problem.
