I bought the DVD of neverending story about 2 months back

its cheesy as hell but i still respect that i loved it YEARS back when it was new

I remained interested, but certainly not quite as engrossed, when I rewatched it two years back. I wasn’t as interested in the storyline or the characters as in the creatures. I guess my argument is holding up that strong, but anything with a giant mud turtle island = win.

If you are still fond of The Neverending Story, and haven’t seen it recently. . . DONT, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WATCH IT AGAIN. It does NOT hold up.

Some movies, like the first Ninja Turtles, and The Goonies, and select others, DO hold up. I thought re-watching The Neverending Story would reveal it to be as good as I remembered. Not so.
