Imagine sleeping on that ship. Waking up, looking out your tiny window, expecting to see the ocean you were in the middle of when you went to bed… seeing this stone wall.. looks like it could take a while to get through there as well, so it would probably feel like “forever”, before they realized what was going on xD

The engineer who designed this canal is Bela Gerster. The canal is 6.3 kms long, 22 m wide, and only 4m deep.
