Actually, nothing will happen, but not for the reason given. Sperm are very delicate and don’t live outside of exacting conditions long. Tampons are not conducive to keeping sperm alive – they would have died almost instantly. Certainly long before the other person would have used it. I know this is just a joke, but the punchline fails as the joker was inadvertently correct. Massive fail all the way around.
