This show is quite stupid in my opinion.

I would never let my child watch this, or anyone child I was watching for that matter.

If it shows anything, it’s how to be stupid and angry.

I’m not saying they have to be carbon copies, lord knows I’m pretty different from my mother but when there’s a figure to help you tell what’s right and wrong (at least until you begin thinking for yourself) it helps.

Making the TV that “figure” shows that you’re not qualified to take care of a child.

That being said, I watched a lot of cartoons but none went over the top and the most “dangerous” ones were nowhere to be seen on local channels.

I came to love all these when I was a teen because then I could fully experience and appreciate all that I missed in my younger days.

He said it was idiotic, which I thought was a valid statement. And his comparison to drugs and alcohol was a little extreme, but properly qualified and quite accurate.

So I guess I don’t really understand where you are coming from. And as Nyokki pointed out, not god=/=bad. Even though I think it isn’t the best thing we could be letting our kids watch, I can see how they might find it entertaining.

But I do agree with you about it being the least of our problems…

Whether or not Ren & Stimpy is bad for kids depends entirely on the children in question and how the parents of those children respond. Meaning parents need to know their child’s mental and emotional capabilities at interpreting different things.

As it is, since this cartoon has come out, kids are now able to access far worse. Ren & Stimpy is the least of our concerns.

So I wouldn’t judge Casemods too harshly on the comparison, even though I probably wouldn’t have looked at it that way either. From my perspective, kids in general are very resilient, and can learn to cope with a wide array of experiences, both negative and positive, often times much better than adults do.

It’s been my experience that it is only when they experience these things unsupervised, with no parental guidance or training about how to differentiate what is good and bad, and more importantly, why things are good and bad, that things like this end up warping their minds.

The same can be said about being around people who use drugs and alcohol. Neither drugs nor alcohol are inherently bad things, but can lead to bad things if abused. This makes it important that kids with parents or guardians that use them to be taught why they can be bad, and how to avoid getting to that point, either verbally or (much more preferably) by example.
