So all year long Atheists trash talk Christians and our religion, only to celebrate Christmas? And I know someone will try to justify it by saying along the lines of “well xmas has been so commercialized that it has nothing to do with jesus or blah blah blah” but whatever the reason you use, you’re still celebrating and enjoying a major Christian holiday.
Merry Christmas and a Jolly Kwanzaa.

I don’t generally trash talk anyone’s religion and have always joined in Christmas festivities w/ relish.
So merry Christmas from the local (polite) atheist.

I’m an atheist celebrating Christmas also. For one thing, my parents are Christian. For another thing, it’s fun to give gifts and share a nice meal. Lastly, this major Christian holiday is a recycled major pagan holiday, tree and all.
Merry Christmas MCS.

christmas is as much a christian holiday as halloween is.
that is to say, other then the nativity and the devil worship, not much of one.

You need to do something in the middle of winter. It’s not as easy to get around, so you celebrate together on a given day; friends, food and gifts. I’m good w/ that. My parents were/are atheist as well and we always celebrated Christmas. No matter how atheist I am, I’m not gonna try to explain to the kids why all their friends get gifts but they don’t. That would just suck.

Also, I’ve only bought a Christmas tree a few times, mostly to have a tree to plant later. We set up lights and make it look festive, but we don’t go crazy w/ it.
