  2. Earthquake? We get sinkholes around here that sometimes cause the pavement to collapse.

  3. Subsidence due to rain. You see this all the time in places like California.

  5. luckily enough there are always enough cones to go around to mellow the populace out in Cali.

  6. That must have set ‘em back a couple hundred bucks…

    This only happened once around where I live…but it happened to ten or eleven roads all at once during a flood. Fun to watch, but I can’t imagine it was fun to pay for.

  9. Go to live in Kentucky sometime. Their state flower is the road cone.

  10. The area looks a lot like where I grew up WV/western PA/Ohio tristate area… but the rest of the road looks a little too nice to be WV. Might be foothills of the Appalachian mountains *shrug* I’ve definitely seen roads like that in WV though.
