Jacque Fresco (born March 13, 1916) is a futurist based in Venus, Florida, USA interested in the areas of industrial engineering, architectural design, and social engineering, though he does not have any formal university education in those fields[1]. He started The Venus Project together with Roxanne Meadows. His optimistic view and desire to create solutions that maximally benefit the greatest number of people stem from his formative years during the Great Depression.[citation needed] To this day he writes and lectures extensively on subjects ranging from the holistic design of sustainable cities, energy efficiency, natural resource management and advanced automation, focusing on the benefits it will bring to society.

@...sylvanish: For once I agree with EI. He’s social ideas are good on paper, but similar ideas have been attempted and always had disastrous results. If step one of your plan is that everyone in the world work together in the spirit of cooperation, then the plan is bound to fail.

See, that mentality is the very problem, that pessimism and selfish conditioning that the media so deeply instills in everyone is exactly why we are doomed to fail. There is so much fear of change and so much ingrained hopelessness all around us that so many people think and believe it is impossible to create a harmonious and sustainable society.
Anyone who has been truly awake for even a moment in their lives can see the black sigils and their negative effect on people everywhere.
If a plan to save the world is bound to fail, so to are we as a species bound to fail for the same damn reason.
So be a sheep. Be a stick-in-the-mud and let all the despair and dementia perpetuated by a corrupt system leave you as yet another lazy victim of reality, convinced that the world is shit and always will be shit because people are shit and no amount of hope or love or selfless acts and cooperation is ever going to change that. Be a shit and be satisfied with a shit world.
I for one defy it. I make every effort I can to lead by example and not be a battery in this shit-machine. We are already living in a world of disastrous results. I am doing all I can to help clean up this shitty mess made by shitty people and not consume resources but produce and share resources. It sucks that there are so few people like me, but even if I am doomed to fail, I don’t care, because so is everyone else.
At least I will die trying to save us rather than just another wasted sack of consumer shit letting the problem get worse.
So, yeah, the first step in his plan is flawed because the people of this world are terrified selfish children still fighting over bullshit: DO YOU HAVE A BETTER IDEA? Why don’t you help out instead of just bleating cynicism?

The world can be improved, but hope and love are not enough. We need people to actually work hard, make new discoveries, build new social institutions.
One requirement that I look for in a social plan is scalability. The plan should work just as well with 100 people cooperating as 6 billion. If Jacque Fresco or anyone else were serious about their ideas, why don’t they go to Somalia or some place and start building their idea society?
And, yes, I do have better ideas. Once my mindcontrol nanobots are completed, I’ll let you know the details.
