    The first zombie is an idiot. The second and third, are completely right. Those were the main messages of Romero’s movies.
    Resident Evil and the likes lack those 2 messages, that’s why certain Zombie lovers hate those movies. I for one love even those, as long as it’s a serious film and it has zombies – I’m gonna love it anyway.
    But I watch the comedy zombie films too, because I can’t resist. I regret it for the most part though.

    I agree with dieAntagonista – in democratic society, many can be labeled as zombies, as they are clearly brainwashed by the propaganda put out by the government and by corporations

    every day the constant messages of “trust your government”, and “buy more stuff” are being preached out to the masses, and only a select few are able to see the truth

    as for zombie movies, I think that the best ideas came from the original ‘day of the dead’ that had a scientist actually domesticate a zombie to be like a loyal pet, and later when the scientist got killed, the zombie actually started crying about it

    dieAntagonista: Oh girl, the Resident Evil movies are a cheap and pathetic cash-in of the great and awesome survival horror Games. Mind you I liked the movies because I love Mila in every way a guy would like to imagine, but still; the games are spooky and actually do incorporate all of those ideas (even 4 a bit) into their plot and concept. The latest games however, including RE 4 and on have kind of steered away from zombies and are taking the franchise into other realms of Zombient concept.

    I like zombies simply for the fact that they are zombies…and fictional. Otherwise, screw that.

    Why YES. Mila is teh sex, I agree. Another one of my forbidden pleasures. But even without her, I would have liked the movies. The games on the other hand are excellent, I agree with that too. As for the latest games, I was very surprised at this new idea of zombies becoming somewhat civilised with farms and whatnot. I’m not sure if I like it. Zombies are so precious to me because it’s this idea of monsters which aren’t much different than us, but still you have no choice other than brutally killing them all.
    With this new kind of zombie you could almost feel empathy towards them.

    @dieAntogonista: As for the RE movies, I’m gonna stick my neck out there and say that the first one had an obvious plot of corporate greed. Sure, the story was a cm thick and a rip off of the games, but it was cool. That theme carries over into the remaining two, but it was best in the first one. Besides, even in most of the games the main character is fighting corporate greed and the apathetic consumers from what I’ve seen.

    So I’mma lil’ confused how people look at RE like a movie that lost touch with the Romero zombie tradition.

    the3g_ipwn: Are you serious? Take Dawn of The Dead 1978 for example, it’s categorized as drama on IMDB. It has zombies and it’s a drama. Dramas are serious. Now what do you say to that? If you agree that there are zombie movies that aren’t comedy movies, that makes them automatically serious.

    No what I’m saying is that, just because a movie is based on a fictional idea like a zombie apocalypse, it can still be serious. It can be a drama. It can even be a romance. That is pretty serious to me.

    @dieAntagonista- I watch the comedy zombie films too, because I can’t resist.

    I did so enjoy “Shaun of the Dead”.

    I would like to add to the “rampant consumerism” and the “tenuous state of civilization” themes, an idea found in some early 70s zombie movies; what happens when man messes with forces he does not fully comprehend (i.e.: magic and science). It was usually a mechanism to start the gore fest, but non-the-less spoke of concerns of the day.

    Male Zombie (bryan): Sure baby what ever you want.

    Male Zombie (bryan): do you want something to eat? my love?

    Female Zombie (jessica): ofcourse baby, where should we go ?

    Male Zombie (bryan): there, there’s a human still alive. Let’s Get him together!

    as the sun sets these two romaticly inlove zombies are chasing this man to eat him alive.
