@thelotuseater725: Welsh is structurally very similar to French. Some of the words are similar too. Take Window for example; fenêtre in French or ffenestr in Welsh.

I have lived in Glasgow for ten years now and while it has it’s dangers like any other city it’s violent crime rate is not much above average.
What pushes it higher and what pushes the knife crime rate so high is gang related violence in certain areas. Don’t want to get stabbed? don’t join a gang. You are safer in Glasgow than in London or so many big American cities.

We have a slightly higher rate of violent crime here, but come on, the face? That’s just being mean. I at least now, going out on a weekend, that while I may be stabbed in the kidneys, my face will be fine. I won’t be left with noticeable hideous scarring for the rest of my life. Also, the idea of pointless attacks doesn’t make any sense to me. Robbery, yes. Feuding, yes. People overstepping the mark, yes. But just waiting in an alley and attacking someone? Risky. And pointless.
It seems to me there is something wrong with Britain. Excluding Wales. Wales is fine. Why is Wales not going to shit?

buncha pansies, you don’t have to be chuck norris to defend yourself, you just have to be ruthless.
it takes very little strength to remove a human eye ball from it’s socket, then there is always ears to rip off.
Also if you jam you fingers deep into someone’s nose you can mess them up proper. Lips are dangerous because of teeth but still soft and easy targets. I swear these kids would have to murder me, and you can bet they would never forget what it cost them.
I’m all for the state sponsored crippling of those with the misfortune of being convicted of this type of crime.
especially if it was caught on video, they should be crippled in front of a live audience and then be giving a copy of the event which they must watch daily for the rest of their lives.

Anyway, as I said most knife attacks in glasgow are gang related, they ARE NOT random. And fuck no I wouldn’t rather be stabbed than slashed (or shot, that almost never happens here) as stabbing might make you,… die perhaps?

@Nelson: It still nasty, either way. Even if most are gang related, this kind of thing never stays contained. It always ends up spilling over to people w/ no connection to gangs. If I had to make a choice, I guess I’d take a slashing over a stabbing.
