A “hump yard” is where trains get classified…cars that have arrived at the yard get pushed over a hump into one of several tracks in a “bowl.” New trains get made up and then taken to a departure yard. If the car says do not hump it probably has sensitive cargo and can’t be sent crashing into other cars (and vice versa).
