Truly awesome. And it’s Czech Republic, not Czechoslovakia. Quite a big deal to the Czech people, I learned from spending time in Prague.

@flintlocke: My Bad. Haven’t been there in a long time.

I *almost* got to go there once. I was in and around Prague for a week but didn’t know about this place until the day I was leaving and didn’t have the time. “sigh”

Easily one of the most metal things I’ve seen. I’d worship there.

I was there about three years ago. It’s fucking incredible. The first pic is what you see when you’re entering and after you pass through that first archway, on the left and right they have these 5-foot tall pyramids made entirely out of skulls. And that chandelier is just pure awesome.

    9. Vote -1 Vote +1nyokki (UID#3444)

Ornate in the extreme. It must be literally awesome to see in person.

@flintlocke: also to the Slovak people. Not that they seem to hate each other very much (say, in former Yugoslavia), they were just ethnically distinct neighbors artificially lumped together by the Soviets.

Wow… I’d say Gigeresque, but since this predates Giger by a good 440 odd years it just wouldn’t be right… :)

Still cool though. The Cherubs sitting atop pyramids of skulls is a nice touch… :)

Hey, look at that, there’s my heritage up on the screen. Fuck, we were bad asses.
