Pearls Before Swine is a pretty good comic, but agreed, nothing will EVER match Calvin and Hobbes.

I LOVE Lio, and its got that captivating art previously mentioned, and almost never actually have to be able to read it.

I like Non Sequitor when they’re doing some crazy ass story, like the girl with the skull, can’t remember her name. And the kids with the dinosaurs. That shit was cool.

Get Fuzzy is also good. I used to really like Dilbert. Boondocks is good. I used to like Iggy (WHY?)

But nothing lives up to Calvin and Hobbes. Nothing.

All time favorites are Bloom County, followed by Far Side, then Calvin n Hobbes.

New favorites are Get Fuzzy, Boondocks, and Lio.

Get Fuzzy is the only good new comic strip i read. Beetle Bailey, Hagar the Horrible, BC, Wizard of Id, Hi and Lois are all pathetic horrible shells. Garfield kicked the can in the 90′s and Family Circus was never good.

I started to avoid the comic section in the newspaper well over a decade ago, I think.

Once we lost Garfield, Peanuts, The Far Side, Calvin and Hobbes, and at least two others I’m forgetting, it was no longer worth it.

I took a peek a few months ago. I was shocked and appalled how horrible it had become. The one that stuck out the most was the overly ethnic African-American gangster kid…it scared the crap out of me. WTF kind of message does that send to kids today?
