    Luna: That’s not really accurate. It’s pretty annoying how people put veterans up on a pedestal. I’m not saying anything against McCain here, because when he’s being himself and not the monster his advisors turned him into he’s a pretty respectable guy, but to say that mocking a person who fought for our country is FAIL just isn’t true. Serving in our military right now are murderers, thieves, rapists, active gang members, wife beaters and so on. Just because they’re serving in the military doesn’t make them superhuman. It just means that for whatever reason they have found themselves in the military.

    The fact of the matter is McCain did FAIL to win the election.

    These where a commentary on the effectiveness of his Campaign.. Maybe I should have included Palin too.. or used the campaign logo.. but oh well.

    So stop getting defensive and stop reading falsehoods into it and take it for what it is.

    As far as the list of polices i do not agree with:

    -Iraq
    -Iran
    -North Korea
    -Offshore Drilling
    -His support of the corporate tax cuts
    -His tax plan all together

    So what is FAIL is turning this into me attacking a veteran on his service.

    yes he is honorable for his actions… do these alone make him qualified to lead… not in my opinion.

    Luna: Hugo Chavez, Augusto Pinochet, Mao and Hitler all fought for their countries, as members of their armed forces, before they took over the joint and went all wacky. By your logic, we shouldn’t say bad things about them either.

    Disclaimer: I am by no means suggesting that McCain is as bad as any of the above mentioned people, or that he had any intention of establishing an authoritarian/totalitarian dictatorship in America, or even that he’s at all bad as a person/politician/etc. , I’m merely pointing out the idiocy of exempting people from criticsm/mockery/satire based soley on the fact that they fought in the military.

    Personally, I respect his service and his time as a POW, but if you look hard into his service record it’s really not all that impressive. Had his father and grandfather not been who they were, the John McCain story would have had a much different ending.
    All of you defending him should stop screaming about specific details of a man’s history and take the entirety into account before deifying him. That goes for Obama, too. No one is perfectly clean, especially in high level politics.
