No, not shaft driven, can see chain on far side. Looks tough enough for the rubble and potholes they call paved roads around here.

The rear wheel has a floating shock absorbing setup. Yes, it does have disk brakes front and rear. I would also love to find the name or Company.

Nom nom nom. That is a kick-ass downhill bike. 26″ real wheel with 24″ up front.
203mm front rotor and what look like Hope calipers front and back (?) – last years Fox RC2 forks (8″ travel) ..and obviously the in-frame gearbox. Hawt.
