Back in the 90′ties when I visited this part of the world with my choir (don’t ask) I was given a private tour of this marvelous castle. Among other things we saw the early 3d image that changes as you move, the golden tree, the “fantasy” room that is essentially a cave they made inside complete with hidden doors. As a final touch they took us to the tower at the very top.
All in all it was a great tour and a great building. Oh, another tidbit Ludvig drowned in the local lake before the castle was completed and he never got to see his beautiful work.

I have a photo of two UK Royal Air Force F-4 Phantoms flying past this building in the early 70`s.I always wondered when an image of this place would crop up again.It`s so spectacular that it`s a wonder you don`t see it more often.
